多倫多“2014卡拉OK之星”大赛学员载誉歸来 Huge Achievement in Karaoke Contest

12月6日，多伦多士嘉堡东方广场内中心舞台灯光闪耀，佈置华丽，充满圣诞节日气氛;由加拿大华语电台和Mi TV联合主办的“2014卡拉OK之星”歌唱大赛就是於此举行。

比赛分中文歌曲组和英文歌曲组两组，共有近40位歌手参赛,其中张辉萍声乐艺术中心就有9位学员参赛。中心亦有不少同学到现场为参赛同学打气助威。

经过一轮激烈，紧张而公平的比赛之后，张辉萍声乐艺术中心三位学员以精湛的歌唱技巧，脱颖而出，分别囊括了中文歌曲组冠军，亚军和季军。
•        冠军：Cathy  Wang  （私钟课学生, 参赛歌曲：古丈茶歌 民族唱法）
•        亚军：Paul  Cheng  （星期三晚班学生，参赛歌曲：古老的歌   美声唱法）
•        季军：Richard  Lee （星期四晚8人小组学生，参赛歌曲：千支针刺在心   通俗唱法）

作為五位評判之一的张老師，認為同学能够在這樣高水平的比赛中取得如此驕人成绩，反映同学們平日都能用心学習，而且訓练有素。其他参赛同学雖然未能獲奖，但亦只是滄海遗珠，其实表现亦非常令人擊節讚赏。希望其他同学都能以他們為榜样，继续努力不懈。

NINE students from our Centre participated in the karaoke contest co-organized by the Canadian Chinese Radio and Mi TV last Saturday (December 6).   The event was successfully held in the festivity-decorated Oriental Centre in Scarborough.  

The contestants, totalled close to 40, competed in two separate groups – one for Chinese songs and the other for English songs.  

Quite a few from the Centre had also made an effort to attend to show support and cheer for their fellow students.

All of our 9 fellow students managed to put up a very stellar performance and three of them were voted by a panel of 5 judges as the top three winners of the Chinese Song grouping:

        Champion：Cathy  Wang  （Private class student, song performed：古丈茶歌 ethnic genre）
        First Runner-up：Paul  Cheng  （Wednesday class，song performed：古老的歌   classical genre）
        Second Runner-up：Richard  Lee （Thursday group of 8，song performed：千支针刺我心   popular genre）

As one of the 5 panel judges, Ms. Zhang remarked: “The result of this contest is indeed very encouraging.  In a way, it reflects the overall standards of our students and how hard they have been training.  It is not a piece-of-cake competition as many of the contestants did perform at a very high level.  Those of us who did not win had actually done a fantastic job as well.  Honestly I am very proud of them.”
