Rose Zhang Vocal and Art Centre 2012 X’Mas Party
The annual X’mas party of the Rose Zhang Vocal and Art Centre was successfully held on Saturday, December 15 at 100 Silver Star Boulevard. All tickets for the party were in heavy demand and sold out over a month before the date of the event.
The party commenced at 5 p.m. with a sumptuous buffet dinner cum karaoke, followed by performances at 7 p.m.. Aged ranging from 9 to over 80 and all students of the Centre, the performers had been rehearsing seriously for weeks for this event and as a result, staged a very festive and entertaining show for guests and fellow students as they had aimed for.
With a total of over 30 items, performances included songs of various categories, languages and styles. There were classical, ethnic and popular songs, songs in Mandarin, Cantonese, English and Italian, as well as pieces in Huangmei style and Cantonese opera. Dances of different styles (Hawaiian, popular and ethnic) also attested to the multi-talented facade of the students of the Centre.
The highlight of the night was indisputably the performance of Ms. Rose Zhang, the founder of the Art Centre. Her stellar performance mesmerized all of the attendees and the song she had chosen to perform (“Azalea”, “An Old Song” and “Applause”) strongly evidenced her solid training in the area of classical, ethnic and popular music.
It is worth to note that the entire event was planned, organized, coordinated and implemented by students of the Art Centre. Their involvement had made its success even more meaningful.
